Melinda Marx
Daughter of Groucho Marx and Kay Marvis.At age 11, she and classmate Candice Bergen appeared together as contestants on her father's television show, "You Bet Your Life" (1950). The charity they played for was the Girl Scouts of America. They were also joined by Edgar Bergen. Melinda Marx[2] appeared as a contestant on her father's quiz show You Bet Your Life withCandice Bergen and Mickey Walker. She also acted alongside her father in a television production of The Mikado (1960) on the The Bell Telephone Hour[3] and the film The Story of Mankind (1957). After a few more roles in films, including an uncredited appearance in the movie Bye, Bye Birdie (1963),[4] and The Violent Ones Melinda retired from acting in 1972. A musician, mostly playing the mandolin, she was in a North Coast (Mendo County) Gloriana Opera Co. production of Bye, Bye Birdie, in 1996, alternately playing bass and guitar. She is one of their regular ensemble.
